Cornea Services & Contact Lenses

  • Cornea is the clear transparent dome in front of the eye, similar to a watch glass.

  • Its transparency permits entry of light into the eye.

  • It plays an important role in focusing the light rays on the light sensitive region in the back of the eye.

  • Diseases of the cornea lead to a loss of transparency, thus interfering with vision.

  • Injury, Infection and genetic diseases can affect the health of the Cornea.

  • Permanent corneal opacification can be corrected by corneal transplantation (Mistakenly called 'Eye transplantation’).

  • EXCIMER LASER PTK corneal surgery to remove superficial corneal scars.
