Globe Eye Foundation is a voluntary not for profit organization founded by a group of ophthalmologists who have served long years in Aravind Eye Hospital - Madurai, Sankara Nethralaya - Chennai, Shankara Eye Foundation - Coimbatore, Srikiran Institute of Ophthalmology, Kakinada, Joseph Eye Hospital - Trichy and AIIMS- Delhi for curable blindness eradication with sole intention of catering to the needs of poor and deserving blind population of Andhra Pradesh. With generous help of Bollineni group of Companies and many well wishers, we have established the first ever Super Specialty Eye Hospital in Nellore District of Andhra Pradesh, where eye care of good quality was almost non-existent.

A state of the art ophthalmology hospital was inaugurated on 23rd March 2003. This hospital is one of its kind equipped with latest and most sophisticated instruments and best of consultants.

The aim of this hospital is to provide comprehensive and total eye care as well as serve as a tertiary referral center for rural areas.

It’s a matter pride and joy for us that in just under one year we were able to restore vision for more than 4000 patients. As a policy 40% of all services offered by this institution are been provided free of charge.

This hospital achieved the unique distinction of being the first eye hospital in Andhra Pradesh to get the prestigious ISO 9001:2000 certifications. British Standards Institutions, an independent accreditation body has thoroughly evaluated the Quality Management System of the hospital and confirmed that they meet international standards of highest quality and facilitated ISO 9001:2000 certification by UKAS (London), RAB (USA).

Lions Clubs International Foundation has recognized our institution as their base hospital in this region, which is an affirmation of highest degree of excellence in ophthalmic care.
