In conjunction with achieving a high level of quality eye care at the Institute, educational activities are undertaken to achieving universal standards.

These include :

  • Workshops, lectures and practical training sessions to teach modern techniques to eye physicians and surgeons, both by national and international visiting faculty in ophthalmology who share their considerable skills, experience and knowledge.

  • Advanced Training Courses.

  • Lectures and lecture series for post-graduate students.

  • Eye care update sessions for general practitioners.

To create a greater awareness of problems relating to the eye, public lectures are being undertaken by the Institute itself and also in co-operation with social service organisations.

The Institute boasts one of the best ophthalmic libraries with current books, national and international journals, videos and CD’s

The Institute also offers :

1.  Visiting Observerships.
2.  General Ophthalmology Fellowships.
3.  Phacoemusification Cataract Surgery Fellowships.
- Short term ( 2 weeks & 4 weeks)
- Long term ( 6 months & 1 year)
4.  Ophthalmology Assistant Fellowships

To further enhance the quality of eye care provided, the Institute encourages and partly sponsors its consultants for undertaking advanced training courses and study tours both in India and abroad,
whenever necessary.

Training - Management and Development

The Medical Director’s keenness is reflected in the genuine concern he has for the development and growth of each individual at the Institution and at a personal level.

Regular training and development programmes are conducted by renowned faculty for doctors, management and staff. In addition, the Institute sponsors external courses. This organization development intervention enables its people to continuously hone their skills.

The overall focus is on a holistic transcultural approach to theory and practice. It fosters professionalism and leadership skills.

School of Optometry

Globe eye foundation is running a school of optometry to train quality ophthalmic assistants and optometrists.

The following courses are offered.
